Dentures are the standard treatment for tooth loss. Based on individual needs, either a partial or complete denture is used. A complete denture replaces a full arch of teeth, whilst a partial denture is used for cases where teeth still remain.

Partial dentures

Used to replace one or more missing teeth, partial dentures prevent the healthy teeth surrounding the missing teeth from moving as a result of tooth loss. Clasps are used to secure the denture to the surrounding teeth.

Complete dentures

We use a complete denture to replace a full arch of teeth. We make complete dentures by taking impressions of your gums, and photographing your mouth and face. We then send the impressions and photographs to our lab, where your dentures will be crafted for a perfect fit.

What are dentures made from?

There are a number of materials suitable for the production of dentures. They can be made from acrylic, chrome, porcelain and resin.

Benefits of Dentures

Tooth loss can happen at any time, for a variety of different reasons. Dentures, being a standard, time-tested solution, have many benefits, which include:

  • Providing structure for your mouth and face – well fitted dentures often make you look younger.
  • Restoring the ability to eat, laugh, talk and smile with ease.
  • Replacing lost teeth, meaning the development of eating problems and speaking issues is prevented
  • Self-esteem and confidence is restored
  • Dentures are natural looking and custom-made to fit your mouth and face perfectly

Looking after your dentures

It’s important that you take good care of your dentures. They should be cleaned every day using denture cleaning solution and a soft toothbrush. Try not to use abrasive toothpastes or mouthwashes, as these can damage the dentures. Never use boiling water; high temperatures can misshape the denture.
